Cocoon!

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Whoopeedoo!!!!

A new piece! In green! My favourite colour. Which you have been wearing quite a bit of lately. Yay!!!!

I love the cocoon-like structure. And the life-jacket collar! And the slinky fabric. Everything about it is just so "you", Lee Lin! More, please, more!

ChinnyEm will be fuming when she checks in on this blog because she's missing it all. Wahahahahaha!"

ChinnyEm says: "Why did you wait till after I left to pull out all the big guns huh? I want an explantion! This totally reminds me of Comme Des Garcons' Lumps and Bumps and a little of Hussein Chalayan's SS/10 and even Seema Pun's (whose little jackets and vests I think you should totally check out!) lumpy scarf made of polystyrene balls and stockings. Yeah just one of your jackets can send me in quite a frenzy. What more can I say? LOVE."

Christmas Tinsel

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Happy Boxing Day, Lee Lin!

How was your Christmas? Hope it was grand!

The third time you've worn this shiny number since we started this little blog! It's one piece that I have no objection to you repeating. As long as it's not too often.

It's quite Christmas-y, isn't it? And I much prefer this nude and pale shade of lipstick with it than the previous rouge-y colours."

ChinnyEm says: "AAHAHA well OBVIOUSLY you have favourite pieces in your wardrobe and I'm super glad to see that this is one of them. And of course you'd never wear one of those cheesy knitted jumpers with little santas and christmas trees on them so this futuristic piece of Christmas 'tinsel' does the job nicely. I also hope you had a lovely Christmas!"

PHWOAR!!!

Image from Designer People Episode 4 on SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"That's right! PHWOAR, Lee Lin! And on quite a few counts too!

1. Those shiny green patent slip-ons on your feet! Perfectly Pantone-matched to the green of the Holden Commodore! Not crazy about the car. Or that colour on a car. But mad mad mad about those shoes! Everything about them!

2. Those legs! This is the first time that I've seen the shape of you legs. In trousers. And pretty tight-fitting ones at that. I think SBS should do away with the news desk every weekend when you read the news. WE WANT TO SEE MORE LEGS!!!!!

3. That outfit! Simple and clean but hot! Remind me of early Helmut Lang silhouettes.

ChinnyEm must be knocking herself now, if she's reading this, for being away. Wahahahahahahaha! (If you're reading Emmster, you can view the complete episode on Max Wolff here.)

Yes, Lee Lin, your other biggest fan is holiday-ing in Asia. It's just me holding the fort for a month. I hope you'll be debut-ing a lot more cool cool clothes while she's away. Tee hee hee."

ChinnyEm says: Hello everyone! I'm back home and back to soaking up all the Chinny that I misssed!
HAHA! Yes I do want to see more leg as well! And you know I mean that in the least pervy way possible.
To tell you the truth, I absolutely HATE this car. With a passion. Your shoes, on the other hand, I do not. Because unlike this car, they are not tacky, obnoxious (well maybe a little) or "I'm so macho and strong, look at me!".

How Fitting!

Image from SBS

ChinnyEm says:
"First things first- you're wearing a jacket that fits! Sorry if that sounded mean but this is perfectly tailored to your shape! Look at those perfectly peaked lapels and the snug shoulders! Simple black button down goes well with this blazer (with some very interesting lapels may I add). For once, I will say 'simple but effective". *applauds*"
ChinnyPea says:
"The Applause-o-meter here is going mad! ChinnyEm and I both love you in jackets. But only those that fit you properly need apply. And this kooky lapel number, after a few weeks of ill-fitting ones, really got us going. Our palms are sore from all the clapping.
Go, Lee Lin, go!"

Checks And Plum

Image from SBS

ChinnyEm says:
"Finally you break out the tartan! Yes, I think you are slowly ticking off the colour wheel. Haven't seen you in this shade of deep burgundy/plum before. How "dapper" when paired with the green checks! Ahh and I spot some weighty pieces of ear candy too [oops that sentence made me think of ear wax...not my intention]. All in all, GERRREAT colour combination!"
ChinnyPea says:
"Totally with ChinnyEm! Had a major squealing session when you came on this evening! I love green. I love checks of all kind! I love ruffles! And I love green worn with burgundy/plum/aubergine/eggplant!
Loving the thin lime green lines on the jacket too! Like one of those highlighter pens, they bring somee subtle brightness to the outfit! Big ST*RS!!!!!"

Beetroot With A Dollop Of Tomato Sauce

ChinnyPea says:
"I don't know...the coat and the long skirt together somehow make the outfit look too "ethnic"?

Don't get me wrong, Lee Lin, I love "folksy-folky" but this ensemble is a little ancient Chinese-imperial-court wear?

Love the coat. Looks really warm and shnuggly. I'd love to see you in it with some tall boots without the "tomato sauce" skirt."

ChinnyEm says:
"Yes Chinny, my thoughts exactly- 'Hmmmmmmm'. Not quite sure what to make of this coat. Sure looks warm and attractive and it suits your surroundings but this beetroot number is maybe a little adventurous for my liking. SHOCK! 'The Chinster is too adventurous?!' I hear you say. Well I admire the bold statement (and I love beetroot [both the colour and the food] I really do but the coat; it's swamping you! And and I miss all the architectural/shapely collars you used to have going on. Still love you as always. I think I just need my impractical collar fix."

It's snowing inside

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Broderie Anglaise again! Yay! I was wondering if it's the same blouse you wore here but I can't be sure. Is it? Doesn't matter. I love it!

I don't even mind the black today. With the mini-trench feel.

Oh, I've been meaning to say that this pair of glasses have slowly become my favourite."

ChinnyEm says:
"Looks like you're gearing up for some cold weather! It looks like you should be reporting 'on location' from...Copenhagen! I like the broderie anglaise too but I'm not feeling the jacket. Maybe coz it's slightly big for you? There I go with the sizing again..."

Crispy Summer Whites!

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Oh, Lee Lin! We can be twins!

I've been wearing a lot of crispy white things lately too. I LOVE white in the Summer. Well, Winter too even though it's deemed as some as a major fashion faux pas.
Love that touch of peek-a-boo blue. And the new haircut is looking fresh! Love it!"

ChinnyEm says:
"Soooo feelin' all those layers of ivory and the little blue intergalactic collar, poppin' out from nowhere! Also, I can't help but admire how great this screenshot is. Everything is blue and white. Talk about complementing your surroundings Chinny!

p.s I'm happy you brought back the vest!"

The Chinster In Singapore For "Designer People"

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"In my old 'hood! Good to see you hanging out with the cool homeboys.
And dressed so appropriately for the clammy heat! I love that white shift dress with the almost invisible wonky stripes!
Hope you didn't get any laksa or satay sauce stains on it!
Can't wait for next week's installment!"

ChinnyEm says:
"You're in ChinnyPea's native habitat! She must have been thrilled about that!

OH MY GOSH this morning, I jumped on the SBS website and finally found the video for last nights episode that I missed. I'm so happy!

I love the walking shots of you, the dress is so simple and beautiful. OH AND WHAT IS THAT YOU HAVE ON YOUR FINGER? A CHUNKY RING I SPOT!

Okay, off to enjoy the rest of the ep on Chris Lee."

Crimson!

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Colour! At last!

But, Lee Lin, I'm not really loving silhouette of today's outfit. The jacket seems to be hanging on you.

We're hard to please, aren't we? Sorry. Kiss kiss."

ChinnyEm says:
"Remember this jacket? It was the first time we we noticed that your jacket was a little loose on you. I know you are a woman of small stature and the Aussie sizing system might be generous in the shoulder area for you but I have to say, I prefer seeing you in the more vests with sheer sleeves. This jackets just a size big for you and crumpling in the wrong places.
STILL LOVE YOU CHINNY.
Especially your earrings. Yo SBS! HD newsclips online please!"

Haircut!

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:

"You had a little trim! Your lucky hairdresser! Gets to touch your head of steely greyness!

Good thing ChinnyEm and I are not fangirls of the extreme variety. You know, the sort who would track down your hairdresser and issue him/her death threats unless he/she saves some your lovely locks for us in a Ziplock bag after every haircut.

Love today's jaunty pussybow but black again?!!!!!!"

ChinnyEm says:
"ChinnyPea just painted a picture of the scenario that would never occur. I live in Melbourne anyway, so I could not possibly accompany ChinnyPea to your salon.
HAHA. That is my inner creep. RAWR!
SBS really needs to up it's online video quality. A lot of the time, our screenshots don't capture your amazing jewellery. Please send SBS the memo. Thanks.
"
Love today's jaunty pussybow but black again?!!!!!!"- My thoughts exactly, ChinnyPea."

Lee Lin Hosts "Designer People"

ChinnyPea says:
"Another hosting gig, Lee Lin! Yippee! It's been a long time since Fashionista! Does it mean that we get to see more of you and your amazing wardrobe every Thursday on SBS for the next twelve weeks?! Can't seem to find any information about it on the SBS website.

And the Designer People series is right up your alley, isn't it?

"Designer People travels the globe to showcase the world's leading designers in architecture, communication, industrial, interior, and fashion. Each episode centers on the creative insight of an acclaimed designer whose work shapes our lives and our surroundings."

Things that I'm into too! Besides fashion.

Talking about that...what you wore on it! Man!

We keep going on about you wearing too much black but this is some interesting black!

Did you wear something "architectural" because the featured designer this evening is an architect? Tee hee hee.

The lines of your dress is defintely more fluid than that of Ole Scheeren's CCTV building but I love them both. And the contrast in the first image of you standing in front it!

Looking forward to our date next Thursday evening! xx"

ChinnyEm says:
"Oh my god! WHAT?! This happened on Thursday night?! That was when I was working! Any chance I can catch this online?
Never mind, I will find away to watch my beloved in action.
The best thing about this will definitely be seeing the clothes in action. It's one thing to see your jackets from a front on angle but I'm sure there will be shots in this where you are moving about and showing those 'curves' off to the best of your ability. EXCITEMENT!
