"This jacket is the SHIZZZZZZZ!
Wonderful layers in that collar! Perhaps its a bit big for you but I don't really mind since I was mainly staring at your collar anyway. Glad it's not black either. White just 'screenshots' so much more nicely.
"ChinnyEm is right! You are swimming in it!
Or maybe it's because we are not used to seeing you with "exaggerated" shoulders?
You did receive our "memo" for more collars! Woo!"

"Alexander Wang sprung to mind as soon as I saw this vest. It must have to do with the motorcycle shape, the studs and the zips. Wait a second IS THIS an Alexander Wang piece?! Seems to tick all the right boxes...but I'm not fluent in A.W so excuse me...
This combination of 'tough moto vest' and 'silky blouse' is probably the furthest deviation from newsreader attire as you can get, and I LOVE IT.
"I don't speak "Alexander Wang" too but I do love the outfit!
Across between a biker chick and a jockey? With the silky sleeves. Vroom-vroom...giddy-up...vroom-vroom...giddy-up!"

"Dear Lee Lin, can you please get SBS to do something about the colour registration on their website?!
The photos that we use on this blog, we grab from the website every weekend. The resolution is not that great but we can live with that. However, the extremely not-true-to-life colours are pissing me off.
Like today, when I watched you on the news on TV, the vest-like bib on your jacket was a royal purple. A great touch to break up the monotony of the black on the rest of the jacket, I thought.
And both the purple and black bits were in a luxe velvety fabric. When I went to the SBS website to grab a shot, the flat and boring image above is what I got!!!!! Colour and texture gone! Poof! Into thin air.
So please get the techies to sort it out? Until I can afford some expensive equipment to shoot you properly off the TV screen. Thank you. xx"
Hey Chinster, sorry but I wasn't at home today to observe your outfit. Yes, I deserve a slap on the wrists.
From the bad colours in this screen shot, I'd say this outfit is very boring. Actually, black is boring, period.
Oh but I do wish I could have seen the glorious bits of purple on TV!"

"That shiny upper arm plate was the first thing I saw when you came on this evening!
What is it? Does it serve a purpose? Besides making us excitable Chinnettes squeal with delight.
If I'd been in a coma and woke up when the news came on, I would think that I've slept all the way to 2020 and cheesy 90s rave-wear is enjoying a comeback, which you have interpreted in your slick way with the glossy-ness of the black, the shine of the arm plate and the rubber necklace. You're so ahead of your time, Lee Lin. Which newsreader would wear something like that?"
"Hi Chinster/fashion alien. Like ChinnyPea, I noticed the sleeve embellishment first too! Unlike ChinnyPea, it looks more like a bubble to me. In fact it reminds me of the little bubble in the spirit level. HEHE. I did spend most of the duration of the news trying to figure out how you incorporate a bubble into a jacket but I really didn't succeed. Like ChinnyPea, I think you are light years ahead of your time. To infinity and beyond!"

"Yes, we do!
It's such a cuddly outfit, Lee Lin! The grey marle instantly suggests soft warm comfort and the pink (a very good shade!)adds a hint of girly blush. Like a fluffy bunny that I want to stroke all day.
But the colour combo wouldn't have worked if the masculine cut and defined edges weren't there. You'd have looked like a real flouncy pet.
Love it! Had me squealing when you came on. More colours please!"
"I am literally pinching myself. You're killing me (softly)! This is amazing! It incorporates so many 'you' details- I can't help but think that you had it (the jacket, DUH) custom made. From the Mao like collar right down to the contrast of sharp and soft, it's YOU all over. And trust you to work not one but 2 collars, and a delightful bubblegum pink colour. LOVE YOU CHINNY! You put those Seven, Ten and Nine newsreaders to shame.

"Good to see that you're bringing the ruffles back!
High ruff-like Victorian collars next, please?!
Again, Lee Lin, I can't really concentrate on dissecting your outfit today for I found out last night that you're on Facebook! (I think it's a serious time-sapper and thus refuse to have an account. It was the boyfriend, also a fan, who Googled you last night and discovered it.)
You actually ask your fans on Facebook what colour they would like to see you in each week! You know what, I might seriously consider getting an account just so I can cast my votes! And read about your every move.
Or should ChinnyEm and I just write you a letter and suggest that you read this little blog of ours? We believe that we are your biggest fans EVER (we worship you enough to start this blog) and our preferences, in terms of what you wear, should be heard. And placed on the top of your list every week when you're picking your wardrobe."
"Not that we have anything against your Facebook fans...but darn it, we are your biggest (stretches arms out) fans in the entire world. Fangirl blogs are way better than Facebook fan pages! Haha. Okay I'll stop being silly. Just thought you should know ChinnyPea and I LOVE LOVE LOVE you.
Now onto the outfit. I am always a fan of azure blue. It's so much livlier than black! Hm, I think you should wear something like this Givenchy blouse next time."

"I think this is one of the very rare occasions that we get to see your profile, Lee Lin!
AND conducting an interview with my favourite subject - the American politics expert with the bright blue Sophia Loren-esque glasses!
Anyway, loved that stripey shirt! And their super-balloon-y sleeves. And they said back in Television 101 class that stripes are a no-no because they go all fuzzy. Well, they were wrong.
And more serious finger adornment-action today. Did you read our post from last week?!"
"I love that we can see you from the side! Candyman stripes are cool- it's nice to see you're not doing too many block colours. I'd like to see a close up of your earring. Looks pretty!"

I like it because it always look so fresh and crispy. It can be a bit girly sometimes but I usually wear it with things with harder edge.
Loving how you're wearing the fabric here - a softer pussy-bow blouse with a structure jacket over. And both with embroidered cut-outs! You're giving me loads of ideas..."
"To go from velvety smooth black to angelic white is quite a shift! Gotta say I am loving the unpredictability! Makes the weekends just that leetle bit more suspenseful. I think every girl has some broderie anglaise in their wardrobe but I doubt anyone has thought up this white on white combo. My love goes out to you for making the twee/girly fabric structured and exude the "I mean business" look."

I don't mind the black jacket making an appearance every few weeks but even if there are great textures, it doesn't translate across the T.V/computer screen very well. So back to some colour next time kay?"
