Take Another Bow!
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"Tee hee hee, Lee Lin. You sly lady, you! Testing us again?
At first glance, I thought you were wearing what you wore just two Saturdays ago again - the big obi-like bow foxed me. But on closer inspection, I realised that today's piece is a jacket. Not a vest like the previous one. Haha!
Loving the pristine white-ness again! And how the jacket looks like a lab coat. With a twist.
Like the little bit of ruffles peeking out from under but black again?!
I'd love to see you in some acid brights! And prints! I know you take wardrobe "requests" on your Facebook page. Could you do the same for us? You know it'll really make our day. Pwease? Pwetty, pwease?"
ChinnyEm says:
"At first I thought this was the same jacket too (except with detachable sleeves). But on closer inspection, I don't think we've seen you in this jacket before.
One day you'll have to tell us where you buy all your jackets from! I've really never seen such gigantic bow adornments!
Love the cute little ruffle poking out of the angelic jacket.
p.s What colour have you NOT worn? How about a blinding aqua blue? Hehe.
We Interrupt The News To Bring You Some...News!
ChinnyPea says:
"Look, Lee Lin! Our little worship-blog is in the news now too!!!!! Just like you!
You cannot imagine the glee and of course the shrill squeals when I woke up this morning to see the tiny mention on the What's-Hot-And-What's-Not Style Barometer in The Sun Herald's "S" supplement - we are on our way up!!!! Just one down from Heidi Klum at the top! And hotter (thus cooler!) than Davendra Banhart! Whooopeeeeeedoo!
And last night, as I was updating the blog, I noticed that we have two followers (Hello, Kris and Tom!). And that got me excited enough to email ChinnyEm immediately! So you can imagine the thrill of being featured on the national paper today! (Thank you, "S" Team!) Albeit not as big-time as you.
Wonder how they (Kris, Tom and the "S" Team) found us - I mean, we are so tiny that we'd be happy to get like five hits per day compared to those thousand-hits-daily fashion blogs. Is it you?! You using your clout to send traffic over to us?! You do know that we exist (just to love you and your style!) now, don't you? Please say you do! xxx"
ChinnyEm says:
" 'WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!'
That was my reaction upon reading ChinnyPea's email, notifying me of this feature in the hot or not section.
Can't believe word of our tiny fangirl blog got out to the S team! Amazing! Thank you! May the entire world (or the rest of Australia) finally realise the sartorial brilliance of Chinny!
Thank you thank you thank you to our followers too. Feel free to share your thoughts on our Chinny commentary. We wanna know what you think of her outfits too! Let us squeal (virtually) together!
Okay, here is the oscar speech:
'To Chinny, we would be nowhere without you. Really. To you and your wardrobe, we are eternally grateful-"
Hehe, kidding. Chinny, you already know how much we adore you!
I'm off to continue squealing and flapping my arms about."

Do We See A Pattern Emerging?
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"Pattern #1 - Matching lipstick colour to wardrobe-of-the-day: You've been doing quite a bit of that lately. Having a little colour-fun, are we? Tee hee hee. Please keep it up! It makes it more fun for us too!
Pattern #2 - A sleeveless number over a sheer long-sleeved top: I'm wondering if it's your on-air Summer look. You know, lighter and breezier than the jacket-over-blouse combo? Yet still says, "This is a serious newscast and I'm not about to appear on air flashing my arms in flirty sleeveless numbers". Not that we have a problem with you showing some skin! But we understand that you have to dress right for the occasion.
Loving today's royal purple velvety number with the gold buttons. Are you making up for the fact that we couldn't properly screen-grab the one that you wore on Saturday 24 October? Or have you got the tech guys at SBS to fix the colour registration on the SBS website? Thank you!!!"
ChinnyEm says:
"Ah yes, ChinnyPea is right. The sheer-ish blouses and dramatic vests/jackets are the perfect choice for summer.
Today's vest is looking damn luxurious. Material must be one of high stroke-a-bility.
OOH and your sleeves match your hair! The perfect thunderstorm that is your hair. When I say thunderstorm, I don't mean messed up or anything, I mean the colour is like the mysterious dark clouds in a storm."
Chinster The Curator!
ChinnyPea says:
"You know, Lee Lin, ChinnyEm and I often wonder when SBS will repeat the Fashionista series that you used to host.
My hairdresser and I talk about it a lot too (he's another huge fan of yours - he loves how your hair greys so beautifully and hopes that when I get to your age, my hair will do the same too, for his styling pleasure).
And today, I read in the papers that you are the curator of a travelling exhibition of photographs highlighting Australian fashion trends of the 60s and 70s!
They couldn't have picked a better person to do it! Now, will the exhibits be travelling to Sydney. Or have I totally missed it?!"
ChinnyEm says:
"OH my gosh when Fashionista was first screened, I was pretty much oblivious to the superfantastic-ness that is SBS. Dear SBS, please do a re run!
On a side note Chinny, I just found out you are a massive Vivienne Westwood fan and wrote a long letter to her (most likely a fan girl letter?!). HI-5 to that! Hi-5, you big Vivienne Westwood fangirl! I also think Dame Viv is the shizz.
Anyhoo, I really do hope this exhibition comes to both Sydney AND Melbourne. I'm sure ChinnyPea and myself would literally hyperventilate at the chance to view it!"

Gone Folky?
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"When the news and you came on this evening, I let out a louder yelp than usual, Lee Lin.
Orange is something that I haven't see you in! Together with touches of purple and green! Not your usual colour combo. I like! Reminded me of the block-colour pieces that I used to wear in the 80s in my teens - orange top, purple mini and green shoes.
Also loving the handcrafty and folksy feel of the vest. Again not something that I thought the modern lines-loving you would be into but hey, keep surprising us!"
ChinnyEm says:
"For some reason this outfit just screams AUSTRALIA to me. Reminds me of gumnuts, the bush and Jenny Kee; coincidentally another eccentric little lady. Are you and Jenny pals? Together you could be ChinnyKee- a force to be reckoned with.
That sheer top is amazing. Permission to borrow for this weekend? Hehe. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to be wearing flared jeans and hiding a guitar somewhere underneath that desk?
Just kidding. The folky vest is a nice departure from the "drama-mama" collars. Oh yeah, I forgot all about the usual collar!

Cool And Calming Grey
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"This could be my favourite look of yours, Lee Lin, since we started this little blog.
There's none of your usual drama-mama-ness incorporated but I'm strangely drawn to it. The matching of the grey of the jacket to the grey of your hair somehow has this really calming effect. The nude lipstick further adds to that. And the bursts of bottle-green on your ears are pure genius! I can't stop looking at you."
ChinnyEm says:
"Hah, hey ChinnyPea, when can we ever stop looking at Chinny. :)
I don't see eye to eye with ChinnyPea today. Thought this was such a cute outfit (gray always beats black) and absolutely adored your earrings but if there is going to be a number one outfit in my books, it's probably going to be a "drama-mama" one. This outfit is very newsreader weekend wear or newsreader jogging trackies/hoodie. Showing your versatility Chinny. Me likey!"

Floating on a cloud
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"PHWOAR! That's right, Lee Lin. PHWOAR!
Another outfit in one of my favourite non-colour! With a ginormous obi-like bow! If only you could hear my big squeal of delight when you can on.
Loving the quilt-y texture on the vest. Was wondering what I should do with some old pillow protectors with broken zips. Now I know!"
ChinnyEm says:
"Say 'Ahhhhhhh!'. Haha great screen shot-ting ChinnyPea! I literally ran home just in the nick of time to see this wonder! And boy oh boy am I glad.
I LOVE THIS FOR SO MANY REASONS! 1) SHEER SLEEVES. 2) WONDERFUL TEXTURES. 3)ONE GIGANTIC BOW! 4) LAYERS.
I surely hope that your lippy didn't touch the pristine white masterpiece that is your jacket. Oh LADY GAGA you ain't got nothing on CHINNY!"

Purple Fleece!
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"So ChinnyEm told me that she sent you the link to our little worship blog via Facebook...that cheeky thing!
I'm sure you get tonnes of fan-mail each day but I'm secretly hoping that you've come read our humble tribute to your wardrobe. Thus the bit of COLOUR?! And COLLAR?!
If you wore this number for us, "THANK YOU!".
I love it! Love the recent lipstick-matching too."
ChinnyEm says:
"On wonderfully colourful days, all is forgiven! What repeating outfit?
Hi Miss Ribena! Loving this amazing shade and lippy! I want to zoom in and see what's going on with your loopy, pillowy looking collar. Is this a reversible jacket/jumper? "

Are You Testing Us?!
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"Oh, Lee Lin! Two outfit repeats in one weekend?!
You wore the same thing here in August! Are you testing us, your loyal fans? To see if we can spot it?
I loved this shiny silver number the first time round and still loving it!
Ummm...is there a pattern happening? Both "repeat" outfits from this weekend are from August..."
ChinnyEm says:
"Okay, perhaps you are feeling a little nostalgic for August...which really wasn't all that long ago. I don't know Chinster, maybe you could have jazzed it up a little. I'm not so anal as to tell you you can never repeat outfits but to wear the same one so soon irks me a little....
I'd really have loved to see you jazz up this spacewoman jacket with this Miu Miu collar. Super cute!"

Repeat Programming
Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"I thought that jacket looked familiar so I looked through our back catalogue...you wore it in August!
We didn't really like it then and I'm afraid I still don't like it now.
We don't mean to be difficult fans who don't like seeing you wearing the same thing twice. It's just the colour of the "thing" I have a problem with.
Please don't be mad, alright?"
ChinnyEm says:
"For what it's worth, I still loved your knuckle dusters which aren't totally visible in this picture. Anyhow, ChinnyPea and I are unanimous in our agreement that black is, more often than not, boring. Nuff said."

Origami!
Image from SBS
ChinnyEm says:
"I've never been a fan of red and pink. They are just two close together on the colour wheel! I was always aware of this fact in art class...Why didn't you wear orange and blue? Complementary colours would have really just been so much more stunning. Anyhoo, loving the fan collar. It also reminds me of concertina folding in art class."
ChinnyPea says:
" Chinese New Year colours! And origami collar! Do I detect a theme?
The colour registration on the SBS website failed us again! The shade of you lipstick totally matched you blouse on TV but it just doesn't up here. Bah! Have you spoken to the tech guys yet?"
