Blue Blazer

Image from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"Good to see that you're bringing the ruffles back!

High ruff-like Victorian collars next, please?!

Again, Lee Lin, I can't really concentrate on dissecting your outfit today for I found out last night that you're on Facebook! (I think it's a serious time-sapper and thus refuse to have an account. It was the boyfriend, also a fan, who Googled you last night and discovered it.)

You actually ask your fans on Facebook what colour they would like to see you in each week! You know what, I might seriously consider getting an account just so I can cast my votes! And read about your every move.

Or should ChinnyEm and I just write you a letter and suggest that you read this little blog of ours? We believe that we are your biggest fans EVER (we worship you enough to start this blog) and our preferences, in terms of what you wear, should be heard. And placed on the top of your list every week when you're picking your wardrobe."

ChinnyEm says:
"Not that we have anything against your Facebook fans...but darn it, we are your biggest (stretches arms out) fans in the entire world. Fangirl blogs are way better than Facebook fan pages! Haha. Okay I'll stop being silly. Just thought you should know ChinnyPea and I LOVE LOVE LOVE you.

Now onto the outfit. I am always a fan of azure blue. It's so much livlier than black! Hm, I think you should wear something like this Givenchy blouse next time."

Lee Lin From The Side!

Images from SBS

ChinnyPea says:
"I think this is one of the very rare occasions that we get to see your profile, Lee Lin!

AND conducting an interview with my favourite subject - the American politics expert with the bright blue Sophia Loren-esque glasses!

Anyway, loved that stripey shirt! And their super-balloon-y sleeves. And they said back in Television 101 class that stripes are a no-no because they go all fuzzy. Well, they were wrong.

And more serious finger adornment-action today. Did you read our post from last week?!"

ChinnyEm says:
"I love that we can see you from the side! Candyman stripes are cool- it's nice to see you're not doing too many block colours. I'd like to see a close up of your earring. Looks pretty!"

Stark White-On-White

Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"Broderie Anglaise! Woohoo! One of my favourite things to wear in the Summer! And in white! My favourite "non-colour" colour.

I like it because it always look so fresh and crispy. It can be a bit girly sometimes but I usually wear it with things with harder edge.

Loving how you're wearing the fabric here - a softer pussy-bow blouse with a structure jacket over. And both with embroidered cut-outs! You're giving me loads of ideas..."

ChinnyEm says:

"To go from velvety smooth black to angelic white is quite a shift! Gotta say I am loving the unpredictability! Makes the weekends just that leetle bit more suspenseful. I think every girl has some broderie anglaise in their wardrobe but I doubt anyone has thought up this white on white combo. My love goes out to you for making the twee/girly fabric structured and exude the "I mean business" look."

Engagement Ring?!

Image from SBS
ChinnyPea says:
"I'm not a lover or wearer of black but I like what you've done here - a monochromatic play with texture and weight of fabric...the furry softness of the collar...the sheerness of the sleeves in contrast with the more opaque vest "inlay".
What I REALLY loved about today's outfit is that touch of blue on your finger! A chunky in-your-face ring. Love love love very much!!!! More knuckle-duster type things on your fingers, I say!
And not being nosey but it's on that ring finger! Did someone special give it to you? Or is that the only finger that it fits (like some of my rings)? Tell!"
ChinnyEm says:
"Oh wow ChinnyPea is certainly attentive! I did not even notice that amazing piece of work on your RING FINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Chinny, please do tell us more :) I also just realised all the colours you are wearing complement the studio! Haha!
I don't mind the black jacket making an appearance every few weeks but even if there are great textures, it doesn't translate across the T.V/computer screen very well. So back to some colour next time kay?"

Flights of fancy

Image from SBS (Sunday 27 September 2009)

ChinnyEm says:

I am happy. Very happy. So happy I am jumping up and down on this couch. No, I am happier than Tom Cruise on Oprah. I am as happy as that Japanese fan. I should be sad because of that headline behind you. But I am not. BECAUSE YOU HAVE WINGS. AND OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED I WILL CONTINUE TO TYPE IN CAPS TO ANNOY YOU/SHOW MY ENTHUSIASM. WHERE ON EARTH DID YOU GET THIS JACKET FROM? IT IS MARRRRRVELLOOUUSSSS. THE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE RATHER MASCULINE ALL BUSINESS SHIRT AND TIE WITH THIS WINGED JACKET...GAHHHH. L.O.V.E. EVERYONE GET DOWN ON THEIR KNEES AND KISS THE ALMIGHTY CHINSTER'S FEET. YOU HEARD ME. DO IT.

ChinnyPea says:

"Lee Lin, oh, Lee Lin! You are back with a vengeance! Further cementing the fact that you are the Sartorial Goddess of all Newsreaders!

Here we are, little ChinnyEm and ChinnyPea, going on about the things with amazing collars that you used to wear but little did we know that "statement" collars are so "last year" to you!

We could hear you softly telling us with today's outfit that "statement" sleeves are the "now" thing. We have sooo much to learn from you. We bow. Humbly."

Skybound Collar

Image from SBS (Saturday 26 September 2009)

ChinnyPea says:

"Oh, Lee Lin, this is the sort of collar that we know and love on you!
Not as drama-mama as we have have seen before around your neck but I'm glad you're bringing them back, slowly but surely.
And that shade of vermillion! Woohoo! Suits you to a T!
I'd love to think that you've discovered our little "worship" blog and are wearing things that you think we love to see on you. Have you?
See you tomorrow on the Sunday news!!! xx"

ChinnyEm says:
Oh the colour IS divine! Are you mimicking the colour of Sydney's recent dust filled skies? Heh heh. I think we are finally getting the real you back. There is a tear in my eye! Keep up the brilliance Chinster.

Back in brown

Image from SBS (Sunday 20th September 2009)

ChinnyEm: Hi Chinny! Nice to see that you haven't been eaten by a shark, burned alive or suddenly decided to sell all your clothes (gasp! if you do, you know who to tell...). ChinnyPea and I nearly killed ourselves last week. Where did you go, babe?! Ah well, all that matters is that you are safe and sound and will be lighting up our screens each weekend from here on. I admit, I wasn't around to see your amazing return on Saturday butI did manage to see your brown number yesterday. MHMMM A HINT OF A DECONSTRUCTED COLLAR NEH?! And no lapel- just a single row of buttons running downwards! Bravo. I see you are trying to be all dapper with the addition of the origami folded hanky in the pocket too. Very nice. Very nice indeed.
Hey, since it's spring and all now, can you maybe put away the dreary brown next time and pull out, say, I don't know...something GREEN?! :) Then my life would be complete.

ChinnyPea:
"We have missed you so!!!!!! Welcome back! We felt so empty without you last weekend. And feared the worst - that you have left SBS without even saying a proper good-bye. We can breathe easy now!
Loving the overlapping collar detail. And the contrast-y buttons. And the embroidery on the 'kerchief in your pocket. Cute!
I really can't concentrate on "dissecting' your outfit today, Ms Chin! Still reeling from the fact that you're back at the news desk and that we have not lost you! Please don't do that to us again!"
